About
Why
Dreaming the Future, Working the Past and Playing catch-up in between, all while proof reading nothing here.
I write here to feel less responsible for the planet and those I cherish in my finite life. This site is a collection of reflections on the great unknown I’ve come to know, Some posts are short, almost aphoristic. Some are longer debates and introspections. A few are named ideas I have given names to that are personal, like the G-Paradox, the Landfill and the Shrine, the Outlier, because some need a place to be held.
I do not write to teach. I write to remember, to share. To slow down. To check where I stand. If anything here is useful to someone else, that is a gift I am grateful for.
What I write about
Three threads run through almost everything on this site, often woven together in the same post:
- God, the great Unknown: what we mean by that word, what we settle for, what we miss. I sign many posts with All praise to the Unknown (APTTU), which is the closest I have come to a true beginning and end of any thought.
- Ego and the self: how the ego dresses itself up as truth, how it survives even our most sincere attempts at humility, and how rarely we catch it. Discerning the ego, for me, is the first real step toward anything else.
- Critical thinking and the way we live: the conditioning we inherit, the labels we were given, the narratives we accepted without examining. The work of questioning all of it. Not to arrive at cynicism, but at clarity.
These are not separate topics to me. They are a process of thinking and an unwinding journey within, viewed from three angles.
What I am not
I am not a salesman, I am not a guru, a swami, a teacher, or a healer. I do not run a course. I do not have a method. I do not believe modern spirituality in fact started to hate the very word “spirituality”, as used out there. When I write critically about that, and I do, it is also a note to myself.
How to read this site
If you are new here, browse freely. The posts are dated. Some may contradict each other across time. That is the point, as such is my understanding, as I have written elsewhere, “a growing line that is never a straight line, but riddled with turns.”
A note on the work
Everything here is original writing. I do not republish, I do not aggregate, and I do not write to chase attention. The site is on WordPress, fully unmonetized, and exists because I needed somewhere to put these thoughts down before they slip away from me.
